Collective workshops
Over the years the members have participated in many workshops including beading, wet and dry felting, doll making, silk painting, mixed media, mono printing, paper collage, jewellery making, mosaic tiling, ceramics, painting, heat manipulation, paper making, basketry, weaving, indigo dying and raw edge appliqué.
Mostly members have conducted these workshops but occasionally outside tutors are employed to introduce a new skill set to the group.

During the Home Away from Home exhibition we had a display showcasing workshop samples and completed projects using techniques learnt in workshops.
ice dyeing march 2014
Powdered Procion Dye is painted onto crushed ice and allowed to melt into the fabric creating unique patterns.
monoprinting
A gelatine surface is made with food grade gelatine set in a flat metal tray. Once turned out the gelatine allows the addition of paint, textures and pattern. Fabric pressed to the gelatine surface transfers the print. The gelatine can be repeatedly used until it begins to crack and fall apart.
Sequin waist, leaves, lace, perforated plastic table cloth, roller graphs, stamps, flower petals, stencils & motifs are used to create the patterns.

paper collage
Gessoed artist canvas is used as a base for collaging assorted papers. The papers are glued to the painted surface with a medium and when dry the surface can be hand or machine embroidered.
zapped beads
Beads are made from a variety of synthetic fabrics including nappy liners, organza, Vlisofix, Lutradur and cellophane. The fabrics are decorated with paint and pattern first then rolled into a bead and zapped with a heat gun to distort the surface.
